History
History

1956 - Leavitt Tube and Metal Company founded and incorporated by Dave Leavitt.

1957 - Began manufacturing with one slitter and two mechanical tube mills.

1967 - Added first structural tube mill (W40) capable of producing up to 4 x 4 x .250” wall.

1971 - Added second structural tube mill (W25)

1981 - Added third structural tube mill (W80) capable of producing up to 10 x 10 x .250” wall.

1986 - Constructed a 256,000 sq ft facility on 15 acres of land near Jackson, MS.

2005 - Sumitomo USA acquires 40% stake in company

2008 - Maruichi Steel Tube acquires 60% ownership in company from Pinkert Group

2009 - Maruichi Steel Tube announces plans to invest heavily in upgrading or replacing existing equipment.

2010 - Certified compliant with ISO 14001 standards. Re-certified compliant with ISO 9001 quality standards.
Added band saw for more efficient bundle cutting of structural tubing.

2011 - Installed Quick Change Cartridge Tooling on large structural mill (W80) and upgraded milling cutoff saw.

2012 - Added new state of the art structural tube mill (W50) capable of producing 1.5 x 1.5 x .083” to 4 x 4 x .313” wall.
Replaced mechanical tube mill (#8) with new mill for the automotive industry.
Increased the size range on large structural tube mill (W80) adding .125" wall, 10.75” pipe and 12.75” pipe.
Changed name to Maruichi Leavitt Pipe & Tube, LLC.

2013 - Added new mechanical tube mill (#9) for the automotive industry.
South Plant Expansion and pipe processing line.

2014 - Began production of A53 and API Monogrammed Pipe.

2016 - Retirered mechanical tube mill (#5).
